Gurobi Optimization will be participating extensively at the INFORMS 2011 Annual Meeting in Charlotte, NC. Please join us at the following activities:

WorkshopRecent Improvements in the Gurobi Optimizer
Presented byDr. Robert Bixby, President, CEO and Co-founder, Gurobi Optimization
Dr. Zonghao Gu, CTO and Co-founder, Gurobi Optimization
LocationCharlotte Convention Center, Room 213A
TimeSaturday, November 1212:00 pm-2:30 pm

Come hear the Gurobi CEO, Dr. Bob Bixby, and the Gurobi CTO, Dr. Zonghao Gu, talk about the recent improvements in the Gurobi Optimizer. They will look at performance improvements in the Gurobi simplex, barrier and MIP optimizers. They will also examine recent trends in the types and sizes of models that are being solved in practice and talk about what it takes to solve models with tens or even hundreds of millions of variables. Recent enhancements to the modeling capabilities of our Python interactive shell will be discussed, along with a demonstration of how this interface can be used to do many of the things that might otherwise require a full modeling language. Finally, a summary of recent performance benchmarks will be presented.

Software DemoSolving Large Scale Math Programming Models with the Gurobi Optimizer
Presented byDr. Zonghao Gu, CTO and Co-founder, Gurobi Optimization
LocationCharlotte Convention Center, Room 206 B
TimeTuesday, November 1511:45 am-12:30 pm

Dr. Gu will examine recent trends in the types and sizes of models that are being solved, focusing on models with up to hundreds of millions of variables or constraints. He will examine several instances that are pushing the envelope of size and difficulty, and talk about technologies and tuning approaches for obtaining good solutions.
