Robert Luce
Senior Director of Optimizer R&D

Dr. Luce is an experienced researcher in applied mathematics, and author of numerous publications in the fields of numerical linear algebra and optimization. He holds a Ph.D. from Technical University of Berlin.
Sonja Mars
Vice President of Support

Dr. Mars has been with Gurobi since 2013 and manages the Gurobi Experts – Technical Advisory and Support Team. This includes Optimization Strategists, Optimization Engineers and Consultants. She also heads our Gurobi Engineering MIP School (GEMS).
She did her PhD at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany on solving Mixed-Integer Semidefinite Programs. Prior to Gurobi she was working at the University in Darmstadt for a Collaborative Research Center about controlling uncertainty in load-carrying structures.
Matthias Miltenberger
Manager of Optimization Support

Dr. Matthias Miltenberger is a mathematician living in Berlin. He completed his PhD at the Technical University of Berlin and worked for several years developing, maintaining and supporting the SCIP Optimization Suite at the Zuse Institute Berlin with a focus on linear programming in the context of mixed-integer optimization. Dr. Miltenberger joined Gurobi in October 2019. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Martin Bromberger
MIP Development Scholar

Dr. Martin Bromberger studied Computer Science at the Saarland University (Saarbrücken, Germany) and did his Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (Saarbrücken, Germany) in the field of automated reasoning with a focus on arithmetic reasoning. He stayed at the Max Planck Institute for 5 more years, first as a postdoc and later as a senior researcher. In 2024 he left academia and worked for the BTC Embedded Systems AG (Oldenburg, Germany) as a research engineer on SMT solving and software verification. In 2025 he joined Gurobi as a MIP Development Scholar. In his free time, Martin enjoys traveling and musicals, and loves to play board games and TTRPGs.
Silke Horn
Senior Optimization Engineer

Dr. Silke Horn is a Mathematical Optimization QA Engineer with the Gurobi Optimizer team. She began her journey at Gurobi in 2018 in the technical support team and transitioned to R&D in 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from TU Darmstadt (Germany) and has many years of experience in academic teaching and software development.
