Adam DeJans
Technical Account Manager

Adam holds a Master’s in Industrial Applied Mathematics and brings nearly a decade of experience applying optimization, simulation, data science, machine learning, and AI to real-world decision problems. He has worked at Toyota, Ford, and Infosys Consulting, where his models have driven billions of dollars in decisions and uncovered hundreds of millions in new profit. His career spans autonomous vehicles, supply chain planning, and logistics, where he has designed and deployed real-time vehicle routing algorithms, fleet simulation engines, large-scale production systems, and AI-enhanced decision tools built on machine learning and mathematical optimization.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys mentoring data professionals, writing about decision science, and exploring the intersection of human and algorithmic decision-making. In his personal time, he enjoys strength training, training his Giant Schnauzer, learning Thai, and playing Apex Legends, where he currently holds a Platinum rank.
Ben Martin
Vice President, Data & Advanced Analytics

Ben Martin is the Vice President, Data & Advanced Analytics for Hanesbrands Inc. He leads the company’s data science, artificial intelligence, business analytics, consumer insights, and category management functions – responsible for transforming data into business value. He has been with Hanes for 20 years in various leadership roles in the supply chain and in advanced analytics.
Prior to joining Hanes, Ben spent ten years consulting in a variety of business functions in the textile, apparel, automotive, medical device, cosmetic, semiconductor, and healthcare industries.
Ben served as President of the Business Analytics Board of Advisors, Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. In addition, he serves as Advisory Council Member for Center for Organizational Analytics at Elon University, Business Analytics Board of Advisors at Wake Forest University School of Business, and Advisory Board Member for Center for Applied Data Science at Winston-Salem State University.
Ben received his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in technology management. His primary area of expertise is simulation based optimization and process simulation. Ben also holds a master’s degree in textile engineering and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University.
Jeff Camm
Inmar Presidential Chair in Analytics

Jeffrey D. Camm is the Inmar Presidential Chair in Analytics in the Wake Forest University School of Business. He earned his PhD in Management Science from Clemson University and a BS in Mathematics from Xavier University (Ohio). Prior to joining Wake Forest, Dr. Camm held the Joseph S. Stern Chair in Business Analytics in the Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, where he holds a lifetime appointment as a Fellow of the Graduate School. He has been a visiting professor at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the School of Engineering at Stanford University.
A firm believer in practicing what he preaches, he has consulted for numerous corporations including among others, Procter and Gamble, Owens Corning, GE, Duke Energy, Tyco, Ace Hardware, Starbucks, Road Runner Sports, Brooks Running Shoes and Kroger. His work in supply chain optimization with Procter & Gamble was an Edelman Award Finalist and is credited with helping P&G save over $250,000,000 annually in their North American supply chain. He was co-recipient of the 2025 Association of Environmental and Resource Economists Publication of Enduring Quality Award for the 1998 paper “Species Distributions, Land Values, and Efficient Conservation,” published in Science.
In 2016, Professor Camm received the Kimball Medal for service to the Operations Research profession and in 2017 he was named an INFORMS Fellow. Known for his pragmatic views on optimization and its impact, he has spoken at universities, conferences, and industry events including among others, presentations at Procter & Gamble, Kroger, Duke Energy, and Amazon. He is coauthor of ten textbooks in the areas of business statistics, management science and analytics including the market-leading Business Analytics 5e with Cengage Publishing.
Thiago Serra
Assistant Professor of Business Analytics

Thiago Serra is an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics at the University of Iowa and a consultant for Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs. His scholarship focuses on the theory, practice, and integration of machine learning and mathematical optimization. Previously, he was an assistant professor at Bucknell University, a visiting research scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs, and an operations research analyst at Petrobras. He has a Ph.D. in operations research from Carnegie Mellon University, from which he received the Gerald L. Thompson Doctoral Dissertation Award in Management Science. He also has a master's degree in computer science from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and a computer engineering degree from the University of Campinas (Unicamp). He has served the INFORMS Computing Society as vice chair (2022-2023) and chair (2024-2025). He currently serves as an associate editor for the journals International Transactions in Operational Research and INFORMS Journal on Data Science.
