Professor of Operational Research
Paul Harper is a Professor of Operational Research at Cardiff University. Author of more than 130 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, Paul has been a named investigator on over £18million of funded research grants. He is an elected Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales (FLSW), recipient of the 'Companion of OR' Award (The UK OR Society) and was a panel member of the UK Government’s Research Excellence Framework (REF2021) for Mathematical Sciences.
Daniel Gartner
Professor of Operational Research
Daniel Gartner holds a dual role as Professor of Operational Research at Cardiff University and Professor of Data Science at Aalen University. His high-impact research is recognised internationally by INFORMS and the OR Society for its real-world contributions and editorial excellence. He is deeply engaged in the field as the Co-Editor-in-Chief for the journal Health Systems and Co-Lead of the UK OR Society's SIG Health.
Charlie Marshall
Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Charlie Marshall is a post-doctoral research associate at Cardiff University working with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. She recently submitted her PhD thesis “Mathematical Modelling for the Scheduling of Outpatient Telemedicine Appointments". The aim of her PhD project was to develop a decision-making tool to schedule telemedicine appointments alongside traditional face-to-face appointments while optimising patient and clinician preferences for delivery method.
