Simon has previously lectured in applied data science and discrete optimization at Monash University, worked in optimization consulting for transport and logistics projects, and developed software for real time analytics in power generation applications.

Dr. Andreas Waechter is an expert in the development of optimization algorithms for nonlinear optimization. Before joining Gurobi, he spent 10 years at IBM Research and was a professor of Industrial Engineering at Northwestern University. Dr. Waechter holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a recipient of the Wilkinson Prize for Numerical Software and the INFORMS Computing Society Prize for his work on the open-source optimization package Ipopt. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and playing music.
