David Torres Sanchez
Mathematical Optimization QA Engineer
David received his PhD in Operations Research from Lancaster University (UK) in 2019. The topic was aircraft maintenance scheduling and recovery. Since then, David has held research positions at SINTEF Digital (Norway) and Lancaster University, where he has worked on a varied range of combinatorial optimization problems from vehicle routing to multicommodity flow problems.
In his spare time he enjoys bouldering, riding his mountain bike, and maintaining and contributing to several open-source projects.
Belma Sipka
Senior Product Manager, Optimization, Phd in Industrial Engineering
Belma Sipka is a results-driven Operations Research (OR) professional with a strong background in Mathematical Modeling, and Arline Optimization. She holds a PhD in Operations Research from Sabanci University. She has been working as Senior Product Manager at Hitit for almost ten years and is leading a product team for developing optimization and AI-based solutions to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and drive revenue growth for airlines.
Christine Tawfik
Optimization Engineer
Christine holds a PhD in Economics and Management Sciences from the university of Liège (Belgium), where her work focused on network pricing and design optimization problems for logistics applications, through extending game theoritic models and designing approximate solution algorithms.
Prior to Gurobi, Christine had an academic experience through her postdoctoral work at Zuse institute Berlin, where she led the „sustainable energy planning“ research group, supervising MSc and Phd theses, acquiring research grants and handling collaborations within the district heating sector. She later switched to the steelmaking making industry, where she had the opportunity to collect both a consultancy and professional software development experience for nearly two years.
Outside of work, she enjoys being outdoor, travelling, reading and learning new artistic craft skills.
