At Gurobi, we’ve always believed that the most powerful innovations happen at the intersection of disciplines, ideas, and industries. Optimization doesn’t live in a vacuum—it thrives when researchers, developers, business leaders, and data scientists come together to tackle complex challenges.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce the Gurobi Innovation Lab: a collaborative space dedicated to exploring what’s next in mathematical optimization and decision intelligence.

What Is the Gurobi Innovation Lab?

The Gurobi Innovation Lab is a cross-functional initiative designed to accelerate innovation by bringing together Gurobi teams, academic partners, industry experts, and strategic collaborators. It’s a place where bold ideas are explored, tested, and turned into practical solutions that create measurable impact.

We created the Innovation Lab in response to a growing need from customers and partners looking for help with experimental ideas—especially those that require specialized support or cross-functional expertise.

Whether it’s integrating optimization with artificial intelligence, building next-generation user experiences, or tackling novel industry use cases, the Gurobi Innovation Lab provides the structure and support to make innovation possible—and scalable.

A Space for Collaborative Innovation

The Gurobi Innovation Lab was created to break down silos and foster agile collaboration across product, engineering, research, marketing, academia, and more. By welcoming a diverse range of perspectives and skill sets, we can explore bold concepts, prototype rapidly, and co-develop solutions that push the boundaries of what optimization can do.

Although the Gurobi Innovation Lab was only recently announced, the work behind it has been underway for some time—and it’s already delivering powerful results. From driving advances in AI and optimization to powering large-scale, nonlinear modeling projects with global partners, the Lab has been steadily pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Now formally recognized, the Gurobi Innovation Lab will continue to accelerate these efforts—bringing together customers, academics, and experts to explore what’s next in mathematical optimization.

Why It Matters

For many organizations, innovation is difficult to prioritize—especially when the path forward isn’t yet clear. The Gurobi Innovation Lab gives us the freedom and focus to explore early-stage, experimental, or high-risk ideas with real potential.

It allows us to:

  • Rapidly test, refine, and scale new concepts
  • Partner with academia and industry to co-create the future of optimization
  • Translate cutting-edge research into business value
  • Build tools that make optimization more accessible and impactful

For our customers, it means access to proven approaches, faster prototyping, and support for navigating uncertainty—especially in emerging applications like generative AI or hybrid decision systems.

How You Can Get Involved

If you have a bold idea, the Gurobi Innovation Lab is open for collaboration. Whether it’s a rough concept or a developed use case, we’re always looking to partner on projects that challenge the status quo and explore untapped opportunities in optimization.

You don’t need a perfect plan to participate—just a compelling problem and curiosity about where optimization might help.
