Local Nonlinear Optimization in Gurobi 13.0

In recent Gurobi releases significant effort has gone into improving the capability of the solver for global nonlinear optimization. Here we will explore a new feature for Gurobi 13.0: the ability to quickly find locally optimal solutions to nonlinear problems.

• Explain the difference between local and global optimal solutions to an optimization problem,
• Give an overview of the methods used to find locally optimal solutions in Gurobi
• Walk through several practical examples showing how to model instances and invoke the local nonlinear solver.
