Abstract: This workshop will discuss our latest release, Gurobi 9.5, as well as some of our recent efforts to help make you successful with optimization. We’ll touch on the performance improvements in version 9.5 and the new and enhanced features, which make it easier for you to state and solve your optimization problems. We’ll also talk about our new Compute Server features, which greatly simplify deployment in an enterprise environment. Finally, we’ll talk about a number of other important ingredients in a successful optimization application, including support, licensing, education, consulting, etc.
Gurobi Tutorial
Session: Tutorial: Gurobi's Educational Resources & Optimization Game
Presented by: Alison Cozad, Optimization Engineer; Cara Touretzky, Technical Account Manager and Lindsay Montanari, Academic Program Director
Location: Tanglewood
Time: 1:50pm - 2:40pm
Date: Monday, April 4, 2022
Abstract: Gurobi is a company that has education at the core of what we do; because of this, we strive to find ways to give back to the optimization community that has helped shape us. Gurobi Optimization has developed and released open education tools to teach users why optimization is valuable, why it’s difficult, and why solvers and other optimization algorithms are essential in finding the best solution for their problem solving. If you are looking to help teach your colleagues optimization or are new to optimization yourself, join Gurobi experts to dive into our new optimization game and take a tour of our suite of free education tools. Please bring your laptops to get the full benefit of this hands-on tutorial (including game play and a review of available guides).

Location: Meyerland A
Time: 1 PM - 2:45 PM
Date: Sunday, April 3
Abstract: Ed Rothberg will be presenting a portion of the Princeton Consultants workshop, "Rapid Optimization Model Development With Python And Pandas". He'll talk about the continuum of optimization model review and refinement assistance offered by Princeton Consultants and Gurobi, including specific examples of how these services led to significantly better outcomes.
The Burrito Optimization Game
Session: Gamifying Learning in Mathematical Optimization
Presented by: Lawrence (Larry) Snyder
Location: Memorial Room
Time: 10:30 AM
Date: Monday, April 4
Abstract: Gurobi Optimization has created an educational game that introduces new users to the power of optimization. This is a web-based app that is intended to act as an entry point for data scientists and problem solvers who would benefit from optimization; the game teaches users why optimization is valuable and important, why it’s difficult (by showcasing the scaling and added complexity of optimization throughout round play), and why solvers and other optimization algorithms are essential in finding an optimal solution.
