In this Gurobi Alliance Webinar our partner LTPLabs presented together with their customer Sixt, the fleet rotation and revenue management system designed for a car rental company, aiming at optimizing and integrating operational pricing and fleet rotation decisions.

A mixed-integer programming model is at the core of the developed approach. This model determines, on a daily basis, the price and fleet of each vehicle group, station, and length of rental, aiming at optimizing revenue and the fleet’s target occupation rate.

Constraints such as overall fleet capacity, price precedences among vehicle groups, and operational capacity of stations ensure the solutions’ fitness to reality.

Nowadays, the system is capable of generating over 200k daily decisions, and results point to an estimated annual increase in Revenue Per Car between 2 and 8%.
