Before joining Gurobi Optimization, Juan spent several years in the IT industry, performing roles in R&D, business intelligence, and data science. He has also taught undergraduate courses about statistical process control and mathematical optimization in the industrial engineering department at ITESM, campus Guadalajara. Juan earned a M.Sc. in statistics and operational research at the University of Edinburgh with distinction. His main interests are in optimization, machine learning, and deep learning.

Summer began her academic career at Binghamton University in New York, receiving a BS in Industrial Systems Engineering. Curious to dive deeper into the applications of data-driven decision-making, she pursued an MS in Applied Data Science from the University of San Diego. In her last role as a Data Scientist, she leveraged Python and SQL to formulate machine learning and mathematical programming models to optimize processes within Capital Introduction Events. This experience deepened her interest in the intersection between Operations Research and Data Science. Summer thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds to develop innovative solutions.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys baking, gardening, and spending time by the ocean. She is committed to continuous learning and growth, and seeks to build lasting, impactful relationships, both personally and professionally.
