The Energy Innovation Summit is designed as a thought-leading, practitioner focused forum for those involved in planning and operating Europe’s power grid under increasing complexity.

The event emphasizes open exchange on how optimization-based methods can deliver robust, transparent, and scalable impact in real-world TSO environments.

Day 1 – European Power Grids: A Growing Optimization Footprint

The focus is on European TSO business. We will take two complementary perspectives in the agenda:

• An energy-domain perspective, focusing on operational and planning challenges and the growing integration of optimization into decision processes, including open discussion of successes, trade-offs, and hurdles.
• An optimization and modeling perspective, featuring ideas from mathematics, computer science, and physics, applied to current and future power system challenges.

Day 2 – From Models to Impact

Day 2 focuses on the successful integration of optimization-based decision support systems, with emphasis on quality, robustness, explainability, testing, and long-term maintainability.

• A joint plenary session will be followed by two parallel breakout sessions:
• A Gurobi-hosted session with a solver and innovation deep dive.
• A PSE-hosted session on multi-layer planning, offering participating TSOs the opportunity to engage closely with PSE’s approach and experience.
