Installation - Ports and Firewalls
In previous releases, grb_rs
required a large range of ports to
be open (61000 through 65000 by default). Version 8.0 only requires a
single port, which simplifies the installation and the setup of
firewalls. The default port depends on the protocol: port 80 for HTTP
and port 443 for HTTPS. In order to use these default ports, you will
need to be an administrator to start grb_rs
, and also make sure
that they are not already in use. You can also choose a custom port
(e.g., port 61000).
Refer to the sections about starting grb_rs
as a standard process or
service for more details.
